Certificate forgery: NYSC tenders documents against gov Mbah

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Enugu State has commenced sitting on the petition filed by the Labour Party and its candidate Chijioke Edeoga against the election of Dr Peter Mbah as the governor of the state after the Sallah break . At the resumed hearing on Friday, the petitioners presented the National Youth Service Corps , as its first witness in defence of their petition. Edeoga and his party are challenging the election of Governor Mbah on grounds that he did not secure the highest lawful votes cast in the March 18 governorship election and that the respondent, submitted a forged NYSC discharge certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission in an effort to secure his election.   The PUNCH had reported that the Tribunal had earlier subpoenaed NYSC following Petitioners’ application to appear before the panel to certify as true or not its document the respondent (Mbah) had submitted to the electoral umpire before the election. Mmesoma: I support sanctions imposed by JAMB – Ezekwesili

  A former minister of education and an economic policy expert , Obiageli Ezekwesili has reacted to the findings of the committee set up by the Anambra State governor, Charles Soludo to investigate the saga between the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and Ejikeme Mmesoma over her UTME result. Ezekwesili said she supports the sanctions imposed by JAMB on her, saying it would serve as a deterrent to all who participate in the systemic exam malpractices within the nation’s educational system. The committee discovered that Mmesoma forged the 362 score she was parading against the authentic score, 249. Ezekwesili said she is satisfied with the process and the findings of committee which gave Mmesoma fair hearing. MultiChoice Nigeria , the popular entertainment and satellite television service provider, has been slammed with a hefty fine of ₦766 million by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) over violations of the country's Data Protection Act . The development marks a major move by Nigerian authorities to uphold data privacy and ensure organizations are held accountable for mishandling personal data. The NDPC’s investigation revealed that MultiChoice was involved in what it described as " intrusive data processing " practices. These included collecting and handling the personal data of both subscribers and non-subscribers without proper consent. Dubai Jails Nigerian Lady For Filming Maltreatment, Family Kicks

A Nigerian woman, identified as @dunchichi on Twitter, has been reportedly sentenced to a one-year jail term by the United Arab Emirates government for a social media post, showing how some Nigerian nationals were illegally detained at Dubai international airport.  On August 31, Lar had taken to her  Twitter  page to share photos and videos of herself and other people she identified as Nigerians being detained at the Dubai international airport. She wrote,  “I am at the Dubai international airport and myself and some tiger Nigerians with valid visas are being held in a room hours after arriving with no explanation and no information on what we can do.
