The Aliko Dangote Foundation has launched the 2025 Annual National Food Intervention Project, which carries a significant value of N16 billion and aims to support one million Nigerians across the country.

The announcement was made by the foundation's Chairman, Mr. Aliko Dangote, during an inaugural event held on Thursday in Kano, where he was represented by his daughter, Marya Aliko-Dangote. She emphasized that this annual initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility, addressing the pressing economic challenges that the nation is currently facing.

"The distribution of million bags of 10kg to the poor and most vulnerable Nigerians across the 774 Local Government Areas is in line with the core values of this foundation.''

“We are collaborating with state governments to ensure that the food reaches the most vulnerable individuals in each state.

“Our foundation focuses on improving the living conditions of Nigerians through support projects, which tackle hunger and water supply problems.

“We are also strengthening the quality and scope of health and education, as well as promoting economic empowerment at the community level,” he said

Dangote has called on fellow industrialists and businesses to contribute to the fight against hunger by supporting programs and initiatives aimed at putting food on the tables of vulnerable Nigerians. He emphasized the importance of enhancing government efforts to tackle hunger and poverty through collaboration between the public and private sectors.

“I commend the government at all levels for efforts in addressing the food crisis.

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf praised the efforts of Dangote, emphasizing the company's strong commitment to tackling poverty and hunger in Nigeria.

In a statement delivered by Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam-Gwarzo, he highlighted that this initiative would significantly ease the burdens many face, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

To ensure a transparent distribution process, the state government has formed a committee that includes relevant stakeholders and security agencies.

Zouera Youssoufou, Managing Director of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, also spoke about the Foundation's dedication to supporting societal needs, including partnering with governments in the ongoing fight against hunger and poverty.

Dr. Mujahid Aminudeen, Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board in Kano, praised the Foundation's initiative and encouraged others to follow Dangote's lead. He assured that the board would play an active role in ensuring the products reach the intended beneficiaries.
