CAF to Unveil New WAFCON Trophy Ahead of Morocco 2025 Tournament

In a significant move to promote women's football across Africa, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced plans to unveil a brand-new trophy for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The official unveiling will take place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, just days before the tournament kicks off in Morocco on July 5. CAF President Patrice Motsepe, in partnership with TotalEnergies—the title sponsor of the tournament—will preside over the trophy launch ceremony. The event will include a digital showcase in the afternoon and a sponsor-led celebration in the evening. This unveiling represents a bold step by CAF to rebrand and elevate the prestige of the continent’s most celebrated women’s football tournament. Gunmen Raid Supermarket In Abuja, Cart Away Money, Phones, Rings, Airpords, Car Keys And Others (Video)

     

Seven armed men invaded  a departmental store in Abuja on Friday,30th September 2022,and carted away items such as money, phones, rings, airpods, cars and others.


Journalist Luciano who shared the story online said his friend was among those that witnessed the robbery.

Posting a CCTV footage that captured the moment the robbers entered the departmental store, Luciano wrote;

''ABUJA IS NO MORE SAFE!!!

This happened to my friend @iammex_official

Yesterday the 30th of September at about 9:30pm, Armed gang of about six or seven persons entered a store in Abuja (Jekor Pharmacy, beside Regent School, opposite Yoruba mosque) and ordered everyone to corporate and lie down else they will be shot.

They made away with valuable items such as money, phones, smart watches, gold chains and rings, airpods, car keys, and other belongings.

They fled the scene in a white haice bus, with a purple diplomatic license plates) which they snatched from one of the customers at the store.

The matter has however been reported to the Maitama police station and currently undergoing investigation.

Please keep your eyes open ooo, the FCT is not safe anymore.
