Peter Obi Raises Alarm Over Nigeria’s Growing Debt Crisis

A 28-year-old Nigerian woman, Victory Oyakire, popularly known as Vicky, is crying out for justice after suffering years of alleged domestic violence at the hands of her ex-husband, Pastor Felix Omiunu of the Fruit of Restoration Ministry, Edo State. According to Sahara Reporters, Vicky's life changed completely after enduring relentless abuse during her marriage, leaving her bedridden and crippled.
Vicky, a mother and former businesswoman, recounted that her husband frequently assaulted her during their marriage, including when she was heavily pregnant. The abuse reportedly resulted in serious spinal injuries, causing her to lose the use of her legs. Today, she lies in pain, unable to walk or care for her child, dependent on the kindness of others to survive.
Rather than receive help and protection, Vicky claims she is now being intimidated by police officers who have threatened her with arrest after she publicly accused her ex-husband. She says that the pastor is using his influence to suppress her voice and escape accountability.
Her heartbreaking story has drawn public attention and condemnation. Women’s rights activists and human rights organizations have called on the Nigerian Police Force to protect Vicky and investigate the case thoroughly. Many Nigerians on social media have also demanded justice and medical assistance for her.
Vicky’s case sheds light on the larger issue of domestic violence in Nigeria and the failure of law enforcement to support victims. Instead of empowering survivors, the system often silences them through fear, shame, and intimidation.
This is a call to action for both government and civil society to stand up for victims like Vicky. She needs justice, not threats. She needs healing, not harassment. And above all, she deserves a life free from pain, fear, and oppression.
