Born on July 28, 1947, in Benue State, Chief Ogbeh was widely respected for his intellect, humility, and dedication to national service. He first rose to prominence during the Second Republic, serving as Minister of Communications from 1982 to 1983. Chief Ogbeh is perhaps best remembered for his tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2015 to 2019 under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. During this period, he championed policies aimed at boosting local food production, reducing import dependence, and empowering farmers nationwide.

His political career also saw him serve as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from 2001 to 2005, where he played a pivotal role in shaping party policies and national discourse.
