Baby Dies After Mother Gives Tramadol, Goes Clubbing

   An unidentified woman whose child died after she allegedly gave her baby tramadol drug and went clubbing has been arrested by the Cameroonian Police Command.  "The innocent child was the only thing standing in her way as she couldn't take him to the club. So what did this girl do? The Instagram user, who shared the story with pictures of the lady and the dead baby, said the mother gave the child the drug so the baby could sleep while she went out to party with friends. The incident was said to have happened in Likombo area of Tiko in the South-West region of Cameroon. It was further revealed that the said mother locked the baby in the house after giving him the drug before going out. Upon her return, she discovered the child lying down lifeless where she had put him and then raised the alarm. Cash Swap: CBN Bars Abuja, Lagos POS Operators

  The Apex Monetary Authourity also known as the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN)  has excluded mobile money/Point of Sales agents in Abuja and Lagos from its newly launched cash swap programme. In a document released to selected agents on Monday January 23, the CBN provided some guidelines for the cash swap programme. The development came as the January 31 deadline for the phasing out of the old N1,000, N500 and N200 notes approaches. According to the document, only five banks have been approved to engage in the programme. They include Access Bank Plc, Zenith Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, First Bank of Nigeria Limited, and First City Monument Bank. It read in part, “Not all agents can participate. This is open to only selected agents profiled by the super agent/MMO/bank and submitted to the Central Bank of Nigeria and participating banks (Access, Zenith, UBA, First, FCMB).” On the number of states selected for the programme, it read, “Selected agents in all the 36 states (except

  The Southeast has been urged by the apex socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide to disregard the sit-at-home order by Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed disciple of Nnamdi Kanu. Ekpa had declared sit-at-home on Monday and Tuesday across the Southeast. In a statement on Monday by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the group said Ekpa's poly is part of "his paymaster" who is one of the frontline presidential candidates in respect of the 2023 election. However, the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, declared Ekpa the number one enemy of the Igbo nation, hence the sit-at-home should be nullified. Recall that the actress in 2022 alleged that she had an affair with the preacher because he told her he was a divorcee with three children. 85% doctors planning to leave Nigeria, says NARD

Not less than 85 per cent of Nigerian doctors are planning to leave the country to seek greener pastures, as reported by Sunday Punch. This is based on the facts obtained from the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors. The report also showed that the preferred countries for immigration intentions are the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The NARD members are of House Officers, Registrars, Senior Registrars, and Medical Officers below the level of Principal Medical Officers.   It was gathered that No fewer than 17 students of   Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State sustained varying degrees of injury while an unconfirmed number of female students were allegedly raped after some armed robbery suspects numbering about 20, raided scores of the hostels located along Ifite road, Awka, the state capital on Thursday, January 19. According to a source, the robbers, heavily armed with guns, axes and matchets, went from room to room, hostel to hostel, raping female students and dispossessing them of their phones, ipads, money and other valuables unchallenged. “We were at the hostel when we heard gunshots and fled for our dear lives as they were yet to get to our own hostel.   UK's prime minister, Rishi Sunak has been fined by Lancashire Police for failing to wear a seatbelt while filming a social media clip in the back of a moving car. He apologised for the “brief error of judgment” after the clip was posted to Instagram during a visit to the area to talk about Levelling Up funding. It is the second fixed penalty notice for Mr. Sunak; while chancellor, he was issued with a £50 ticket for breaching Covid lockdown laws at one of the events that sparked the Partygate scandal. Reports at the time suggested Mr. Sunak had to be “talked out” of resigning over the fine.
