Nationwide SIM Services Disruption Hits Nigerians Amid NIMC Platform Migration

Prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Senate President David Mark, have called for a united political front to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Speaking under the group “Concerned Leaders of the PDP,” the leaders issued a strong statement in Abuja on Monday, urging Nigerians to support a nationwide coalition to save the country from what they described as “misrule.”
According to them, the APC-led government has failed Nigerians, citing rising insecurity, economic hardship, and declining public trust. Atiku emphasized that Nigeria is at a tipping point and that it would take more than just one political party to redirect the nation. “This is not just about the PDP; this is about the soul of our country,” he said.
The PDP leaders are proposing a national alliance of political parties, labour unions, civil society organizations, and other democratic forces. They believe this coalition will offer Nigerians a credible alternative and restore hope in leadership ahead of 2027. David Mark echoed the sentiment, urging all opposition leaders to put egos aside and think of the country first.
The coalition idea mirrors the 2015 alliance that led to PDP’s historic loss after 16 years in power. Now, roles seem reversed, with the PDP aiming to recreate a similar strategy against the APC.
While the ruling party has yet to officially react, analysts say the call for a coalition could shake up Nigeria’s political landscape. With worsening living conditions and growing discontent among citizens, 2027 might be a turning point.
As political realignment begins to take shape, many Nigerians are watching to see whether this opposition unity will bring about real change—or fall apart like many before it.
