EFCC Details Alleged Fraud

According to the prosecution, the alleged incident happened sometime between July 14 and July 17, 2024. The EFCC claimed that Blessing CEO collected the money from the complainant with promises related to securing a six-bedroom duplex located in Lekki, Lagos.

The commission further alleged that the influencer knew the claims she made were false at the time the transaction took place.

The charges reportedly stated that the alleged offences violated provisions of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act as well as sections of the Criminal Code.

During the court proceedings, the charges were read before the defendant, who pleaded not guilty to all allegations brought against her.

Her plea immediately set the stage for legal arguments between the prosecution and the defence counsel regarding bail and the next line of action in the case.

Defence Speaks on Refund

During the hearing, Blessing CEO’s legal representative reportedly informed the court that efforts had already been made to settle the issue outside the courtroom.

According to the defence lawyer, about ₦24 million had already been refunded to the complainant, while discussions were ongoing concerning the balance of the money involved in the dispute.

The defence pleaded with the court to consider the settlement efforts when deciding on the issue of bail and detention.

However, counsel representing the EFCC maintained that attempts at private settlement do not erase criminal allegations once charges have already been filed before the court.

The prosecution argued that the case should proceed based on the evidence available and insisted that the court follow due process in handling the matter.

Court Orders Remand

After listening to arguments from both parties, Justice D.I. Dipeolu ordered that Blessing CEO be remanded in EFCC custody pending the perfection of her bail conditions.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter until June 5, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

News of her remand quickly spread online, triggering heated conversations on blogs, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X formerly known as Twitter.

Many social media users expressed shock over the allegations, especially considering Blessing CEO’s popularity and outspoken personality online.

Others, however, stated that everyone accused of a crime deserves fair hearing until proven guilty in court.

Social Media Reactions Trail Case

As expected, Nigerians on social media did not waste time reacting to the news.

Some users defended the influencer, claiming that business disputes are common and should not automatically be interpreted as criminal activity.

Others criticized her heavily, with some pointing to her frequent involvement in online controversies over the years.

Blessing CEO has remained one of Nigeria’s most talked-about internet personalities, often making headlines for her bold opinions on relationships, marriages, celebrity lifestyles, and social issues.

Her outspoken nature has earned her both loyal supporters and strong critics across social media.

Over the years, she has built a large following through controversial relationship advice videos, interviews, and public feuds with celebrities.

However, this latest legal battle appears to be one of the biggest challenges to her public image so far.

Who Is Blessing CEO?

Blessing CEO rose to fame through social media, where she became known for discussing relationship matters and giving lifestyle advice.

She gained massive popularity for her direct speaking style and controversial takes on relationships, marriage, and gender issues.

The influencer has frequently trended online due to public disagreements with celebrities and relationship experts.

Despite criticism, she has managed to maintain a strong fanbase and remains highly active on Instagram and other platforms.

Her supporters often praise her confidence and honesty, while critics accuse her of using controversy to remain relevant.

Legal Battle Continues

For now, the case remains before the Federal High Court in Lagos, and the outcome will depend on the evidence presented during trial.

Under Nigerian law, every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court.

The EFCC is expected to continue presenting its case when proceedings resume next month.

Meanwhile, many Nigerians will be closely following developments surrounding the high-profile case involving one of the country’s most controversial online personalities.

As the story continues to unfold, social media remains divided between those standing firmly behind Blessing CEO and those demanding accountability over the alleged fraud claims.

The coming weeks are likely to reveal more details as the legal process moves forward in court.
