Title: World Bank Urges Nigeria to Restore Public Trust Through Better Service Delivery

Image
The World Bank has issued a compelling call to action for Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan African nations, urging governments to focus on rebuilding public trust by improving essential service delivery. This was highlighted in its 2025 Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) report released earlier this month. According to the report, many African citizens have grown increasingly disillusioned with their governments due to poor access to vital services such as education, healthcare, electricity, water supply, and public administration. In Nigeria, these failures are especially visible in underfunded schools, overcrowded hospitals, and unreliable infrastructure. The World Bank noted that while some African countries are making progress in macroeconomic management and social inclusion, the biggest setback remains weak governance. The lack of transparency, inefficiency in public institutions, and a slow response to citizens’ needs have worsened the trust gap between government...

2023 Presidency: Tinubu Sick? APC Chieftain Opens Up on Main Reason Jagaban Is In UK

A claim that the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is sick has been debunked.

During an interview on Friday, September 30, a chieftain of the APC, Ayo Oyalowo, said Tinubu is in the United Kingdom to rest.

Oyalowo, during an Arise TV interview on Friday, disclosed that Tinubu has not been having enough rest since preparations for the ruling party's campaigns started, hence the need to leave Nigeria to take a break from work.

In the interview monitored by Daily Trust, Oyalowo said:

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in London. He cannot rest in Lagos, they will not let him rest.

He came to Abuja most of the time, and they will still not let him rest.

"This man has been working for an average of 20 hours in 24 hours in each day. So reasonable people thought he should leave the country because people will not let him rest since the campaign is coming soon.

“The invitation for the peace accord came after Tinubu left the country. Even his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, was not in town, he had to leave what he was doing in Maiduguri.”

Tinubu had travelled to the United Kingdom (UK) for a meeting earlier scheduled for last week.

A source cited insiders within Tinubu's camp as disclosing that the former Lagos governor will meet with an unnamed group in the UK.

He is also expected back into the country before the official flag-off of the presidential campaign.

Legit.ng gathered that the flag-off of the APC presidential election will hold in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, within the week.

Campaigns for the 2023 national elections will officially kick off on 28 September ahead while that of governorship and state houses of assembly will commence on 12 October, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
