Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has revealed the Nigerian politician he admires the most, naming the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo as his favourite politician. The 79-year-old actor made the revelation during an interview with popular content creator Isbae U on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast. The interview, which was published on September 5, 2026, touched on several aspects of Edochie’s life, career, politics and his views about Nigeria. Although Pete Edochie stated that he is not a politician and does not consider himself interested in politics, he made an exception when asked about the Nigerian political figure he admired most. Nigerian gospel artiste loses his fiancée in motor accident 11 days to their wedding

A Nigerian gospel artist and songwriter, Mark Saladin has lost his fiancée, Deborah, in a motor accident eleven days to their wedding.  

 

It was gathered that Deborah died on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from injury sustained in the accident which occurred along Gashua-Damaturu road on Saturday.


A friend, evangelist Isaac Iko-Ojo, who confirmed the sad news in a Facebook post on Monday, said the couple's wedding was set to hold on December 3, 2022. 

 

"Shalom! It is with deep pain in my heart, I inform you that min mark saladin a.k.a yaron zaki whose wedding is 3rd Dec, lost his fiance (Deborah) They were involved in a car accident along Gashua damaturu late hours of Saturday evening. It deemed the Lord to call her home early hours of yesterday (5:36am) May her soul rest with the Lord and may the Lord comfort the entire family of the late in Jesus mighty name Amen,"

Dubai Jails Nigerian Lady For Filming Maltreatment, Family Kicks

A Nigerian woman, identified as @dunchichi on Twitter, has been reportedly sentenced to a one-year jail term by the United Arab Emirates government for a social media post, showing how some Nigerian nationals were illegally detained at Dubai international airport.  On August 31, Lar had taken to her  Twitter  page to share photos and videos of herself and other people she identified as Nigerians being detained at the Dubai international airport. She wrote,  “I am at the Dubai international airport and myself and some tiger Nigerians with valid visas are being held in a room hours after arriving with no explanation and no information on what we can do. The development marks a major move by Nigerian authorities to uphold data privacy and ensure organizations are held accountable for mishandling personal data. The NDPC’s investigation revealed that MultiChoice was involved in what it described as " intrusive data processing " practices. These included collecting and handling the personal data of both subscribers and non-subscribers without proper consent. Furthermore, the commission found evidence that MultiChoice engaged in cross-border transfers of Nigerian citizens’ data without complying with legal protocols.
