Title: World Bank Urges Nigeria to Restore Public Trust Through Better Service Delivery

Image
The World Bank has issued a compelling call to action for Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan African nations, urging governments to focus on rebuilding public trust by improving essential service delivery. This was highlighted in its 2025 Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) report released earlier this month. According to the report, many African citizens have grown increasingly disillusioned with their governments due to poor access to vital services such as education, healthcare, electricity, water supply, and public administration. In Nigeria, these failures are especially visible in underfunded schools, overcrowded hospitals, and unreliable infrastructure. The World Bank noted that while some African countries are making progress in macroeconomic management and social inclusion, the biggest setback remains weak governance. The lack of transparency, inefficiency in public institutions, and a slow response to citizens’ needs have worsened the trust gap between government...

TB Joshua Discreetly Pursued Stroke Treatment in Turkey While Advocating Miraculous Healing, Concealed Health Issues from Followers – Sowore

Nigerian human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has made serious claims regarding the late TB Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN). According to Sowore, Joshua secretly traveled to Turkey for stroke treatment, all while promoting the idea of miraculous healings to his followers.

In an interview on the KaaTruths program, Sowore revealed that Joshua sought medical assistance in Turkey but kept this information hidden from the public. “TB Joshua, when he had a stroke, didn’t even go to a Christian country. He went to Turkey. He spent time in Turkey treating his stroke. He was flown there by his private jet,” Sowore asserted.

Joshua’s decision to keep quiet about his health problems is said to have played a role in his untimely passing.

“Many people are unaware that TB Joshua was actually treated in Turkey after having a stroke,” he stated.

“What I’ve heard is that his desire to conceal his illness contributed to his death. He shied away from telling the public about the stroke, and that information simply wasn’t out there.”

He raised a poignant question about why other religious leaders, known for their miracle claims, didn’t step in to help Joshua when he needed it.

“I asked myself, if TB Joshua suffered a stroke and there’s our brother in Port Harcourt, Prophet Umueke Miracle from Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries, who can cure strokes, why didn’t he step up? It feels unjust that a fellow servant of God had to lose his life this way,” he said.

“TB Joshua passed away due to a stroke, and yet we have a miracle worker so close. He could have just taken a quick trip to Lagos, laid his hands on Joshua, and we could still have him here with us.”

Sowore went on to criticize top religious leaders, especially general overseers (GOs), for misleading their followers by promoting miraculous healings while they themselves seek high-quality medical care.

“None of these GOs or high-profile evangelists seem to play games with their health. They know exactly where to go for the best medical treatment,” Sowore pointed out.

He claimed that these leaders not only receive medical care but also indulge in cosmetic enhancements, such as plastic surgeries and hair transplants, all while leading their followers to believe in divine healing.

“They undergo all sorts of cosmetic procedures. Why do they perpetuate the myth that they can achieve what is scientifically unfathomable?” he asked.

Sowore emphasized the need to address health and social issues through effective healthcare systems rather than solely relying on religious solutions.

“I envision a country with fully functional hospitals where even pastors who face health challenges can consult experienced professionals and receive top-notch treatment without the need to hide away,” he concluded.
