Gang Using 10-Year-Old Boy To Steal Arrested In Katsina

A gang of three persons who specialised in despoiling women's bags during social gathering in Katsina  have been apprehended by Operatives of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), The suspects included two minors and a 19-year-old boy, said DSC Mohammed-Tukur Abdara, the NSCDC Spokesman, Katsina State Command, on Tuesday in Katsina. According to him, the gang uses its youngest member, aged 10, to go into houses where wedding or other ceremonies are taking place to steal valuables from women’s bags. The spokesperson added that the gang used a tricycle to comb the town for homes to attack. “The 19-year-old suspect is the one riding the tricycle which they normally use for their operations. “While a 10-year-old boy, whom they normally give clean clothes and even wireless earphones, is used to enter any place where an event is going on, especially wedding or naming ceremony. “Because he dresses very clean, people will think he’s an innocent boy and part of the ceremony. “H

      Seven armed men invaded  a departmental store in Abuja on Friday,30th September 2022 ,and carted away items such as money, phones, rings, airpods, cars and others. Journalist Luciano who shared the story online said his friend was among those that witnessed the robbery. Posting a CCTV footage that captured the moment the robbers entered the departmental store, Luciano wrote; ''ABUJA IS NO MORE SAFE!!! Supporters Of Peter Obi, ‘Obidients’ Defy Police, Stage Rally At Lekki

Thousands of supporters of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi held a rally at the Lekki toll gate in defiance to the Police directive. Many of the supporters were seen in mass numbers as they marched at the Lekki-Epe Expressway, chanting ‘Obi! Obidient!’ A supporter @Nkemchor shared images from the event, saying that police could not stop them. “The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. A support group, the  Obidient Movement   has held rally in support of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi. From National Stadium, Surulere to Lekki, and from Ikeja to Festac area of Lagos, many of the supporters on Saturday morning were seen holding the posters of the LP candidate and his vice, Yusuf Baba-Ahmed, who had branded vests as they marched around and moved to the bridge leading. Atiku Meets With Wike, Promises To Support Him For President in 2027

The former vice-president and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has promised to support the ambition of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state fully in 2027.  He made this known to Wike in a closed-door meeting in Abuja . The Nation reports that during their meeting on Thursday, September 30, Atiku offered Wike the new deal of ensuring that he throws his full support for the Rivers governor in the 2027 presidential election.  Sources privy to what transpired between both PDP big wigs said Atiku, however, put a condition to supporting Wike. According to the source, Wike would have to agree to sheathe his sword and support him (Atiku) in his ambition to win the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.  The source said: "Wike was non-committal to Atiku because of past breaches of commitment." It was also gathered that Wike said he would need some time to consult with his team before reverting to Atiku.

Young Woman Allegedly Stoned To Death In Calabar

  The body of a young woman was discovered at the popular Eleven-Eleven roundabout in Calabar   She was found early on Friday, September 30.   It is believed she was stoned to death because injuries were visible all over her body and stones were beside the body.   Sympathisers gathered around the lifeless body as they tried to identify her.   Some policemen in a pickup van arrived at the scene at about 8 a.m.

The pandemonium followed the sudden collapse of a gate to the main bowl of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on a middle-aged woman said to be one of the athletes. Road to Wole Soyinka train station in Ogun collapses, residents cry for help

  Various portions of the road leading to the Wole Soyinka Train Station in Ogun State have collapsed, DAILY POST reports. The Wole Soyinka Train Station is one of the 10 stations that make up the 156km Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail commissioned in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. However, when the state-of-the-art train station was completed by the Federal Ministry of Transportation, government did not take into cognisance, the need to fix the access road that goes to the station. Today, the road has become a nightmare to train users, who are now considering returning to the roads instead of teavelling to Lagos and Ibadan through the railway.
