PDP suspends ex-Abia Reps member, Abonta for alleged anti-party activities

Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery involving illegal transport of individuals by force or deception for the purpose of labour, sexual exploitation or activities in which others benefit financially. The popular gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo is being hauled on social media for performing at a campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday November 8,2022. Mercy had baffled many Nigerians when she stormed the governorship campaign rally in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital on Tuesday to perform as an artist. According to Channels TV, the 32-year-old singer who got married a few months ago, dazzled the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel; his wife, Martha; and thousands of other party loyalists in the state to her gospel songs. Salaries: UNIJOS ASUU Issues Stay-at-Home Order to Members

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, University of Jos chapter has ordered its members to stay at home indefinitely.  Premium Times reports that that the ASUU branch made this known in a statement made signed by the branch chairperson, Professor Lazarus Maigoro.  The statement partly reads:  “One of the issues agreed at the meeting was that 50% of the backlog of eight months arrears of our withheld salaries will be paid to our members immediately but as at the time of writing this press release, only 17 days prorated October salary was paid to our members by the office of the Accountant General of the Federation. “Having stayed for about nine months running now, our members in the University of Jos considered this an insult to them by the Accountant Gereral of the Federation. “Is the Accountant Gencral of the Federation actually answerable to the Minister of Labour?   International human rights activist and chairman of World Institute for Peace, Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, on Monday, November 7, 2022, celebrated a police officer, Ahmed Akpo Zakari, who he claims has never collected bribes since he joined the Nigeria Police Force.  Taking to his Facebook page, Omotoyosi said; NIGERIA POLICE OFFICER I KNOW, WHO HAS NEVER COLLECTED OR SHARE FROM BRIBE SINCE HE JOINED THE FORCE.   He faced many challenges while he was serving in Ondo town for not sharing from bribe, especially, during the time he was part of the officers on check points duty because he always ask his colleagues not to extort any okadar rider or motorist so, many of his colleagues saw him as threat.   It was during that time, I knew that, some officers are making daily thrift from illegality. Man Electrocuted While Destroying Campaign Billboard In Ibadan

A man identified as a member of Park Management System in Oyo State has been electrocuted while allegedly destroying a campaign billboard of one of the gubernatorial candidates in Oyo State. This happened along Challenge after Vanguard Chemist very close to Iyana Elewura in Ibadan.  According to a source, the man accidentally got electrocuted in an attempt to destroy the campaign banner of Chief Adebayo Adelabu again, the iron he was trying to use touched the high tension wire which resulted to his electrocution. An eyewitness, who begged not to be named, noted that the residents of the area had already warned the man against destruction of the campaign billboard. IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Takes Unbelievable Legal Action Against FG, Details Emerge

The pandemonium followed the sudden collapse of a gate to the main bowl of the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba on a middle-aged woman said to be one of the athletes. Road to Wole Soyinka train station in Ogun collapses, residents cry for help

  Various portions of the road leading to the Wole Soyinka Train Station in Ogun State have collapsed, DAILY POST reports. The Wole Soyinka Train Station is one of the 10 stations that make up the 156km Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail commissioned in 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. However, when the state-of-the-art train station was completed by the Federal Ministry of Transportation, government did not take into cognisance, the need to fix the access road that goes to the station. Today, the road has become a nightmare to train users, who are now considering returning to the roads instead of teavelling to Lagos and Ibadan through the railway.
